3 Top Tips for Applying Makeup
If you’re in a makeup rut, it can feel overwhelming to face yourself and all those beauty products every time you get ready. Here’s how to pare down your routine and apply makeup more efficiently for a beautiful, natural face.
1. Create a canvas
Before you agonize over shimmer versus matte, a defined lip or a heavily lined eye, you need to prep your skin. But blending perfect foundation can take too much time and overwhelm an easy daytime look. Instead, skip foundation and follow these tips:

- Start drawing pencil liner two-thirds into the corner of the eye.
- Keep the line as close as possible to your lid for the most natural look.
- For a smokier, sultry eye, line the entire lid and smudge with a cotton swab. Smoky eyes aren’t about precise lines, so you can still achieve this look quickly.
